Why have your wedding in Norfolk

If you’re looking for a beautiful place to get married, consider Norfolk. With its endless skies, wide horizons, sandy beaches, and web of waterways, it is the perfect place to start your life together as a married couple. From the many stunning wedding venues such as Holkham Hall, Titchwell Manor, Chaucer Barn, Oxnead Hall to the Norfolk Broads, Norwich Football Club, Lotus Cars, University of East Anglia, Colman’s Mustard, Lord Nelson, North Norfolk Railway and more—there’s plenty to explore in this charming county. Whether you’re looking for an outdoor ceremony in beautiful gardens, or indoor wedding reception in a grand historic building - Norfolk has something special waiting for you. You can see some photos of these special places in my portfolio.

Magical places for wedding photography

Norfolk has over 90 miles of coastline along the eastern coast of England. You can explore sea-side resorts, quaint fishing villages, family friendly camping spots and breath-taking coastal walks. There are all sorts of unique and magical places to say “I do!” You really can find them all in Norfolk. If you're looking for a rustic and romantic place to tie the knot, a barn wedding could be perfect for you. Some of the best barns in the country can be found in Norfolk. Little Massingham Barn, Godwick Barn, Elms Barn, Chaucer Barn and Hales Hall & The Great Barn to name but a few. They are all so unique and offer stunning countryside views. If you're looking for an exclusive and luxury venue then Norfolk has plenty to choose from. My favourite has to be Holkham Hall. Set in a 25,000 acre estate on the North Norfolk coast it is quite possibly the grandest and most beautiful wedding venue in the country. Holkham Hall specialises in "one of a kind" celebrations. If you're looking for quirky and unusual venues then be sure to look at Titchwell Manor. On the North Norfolk coast, it's ideal for small intimate weddings - or take over the whole place for a big party. Voewood is another unique place to say your wedding vows. Set in beautiful woodlands it's recognised as one of the great Arts & Craft houses in England. It has an eclectic style which creates a unique feel for your wedding celebrations. Dragon Hall located in the heart of Norwich is unique and historic. It offers a stunning location for your wedding day. The Boathouse in Ormesby is a contemporary waterside venue overlooking Ormesby Broad. It provides an idyllic and romantic setting.

Norfolk photographers are spoilt for choice

And don’t forget about Norfolk’s Royal links with Sandringham Estate nearby! Explore the famous Broads National Park the Norfolk Broads - a series of tranquil rivers, lakes, and marshes in the middle of the county. And an area of outstanding beauty. You can spend your honeymoon cruising through these waters on one of many pleasure boats available for hire or simply relax on one of its many bank side moorings. For sports fans, Norwich City Football Club (also known as The Canaries or The Yellows) is a must see attraction in Norfolk. The club has been around since 1902 and plays home games at Carrow Road Football Stadium. Norfolk also has strong royal links with Sandringham House - the country house used by Queen Elizabeth II during her annual Christmas break. You can tour this historic estate to get a glimpse into Britain’s royal family life. Norfolk is also known as Lord Nelson Country as it was here that he spent much of his childhood at his family home in Burnham Thorpe village. It’s well worth taking some time to pay tribute to one of Britain’s most celebrated heroes by visiting his birthplace. Norfolk is hoke to the North Norfolk Railway. This steam railway runs along 10 miles of track offering spectacular views across countryside and coastal scenery - perfect for couples looking for a romantic outing during their stay or a fun family day out for you and your wedding guests! Lastly there is Norwich. Known as a “fine city” it's easy to see why. With narrow alleys, cobblestone streets, medieval churches and historic houses. It also serves as the capital of Norfolk and has plenty of things going on year-round. Enjoy lively markets overflowing with fresh produce and handmade goods or take some time out to explore independent shops selling everything from vintage clothes to handmade jewellery. There are also plenty of cafes and restaurants serving up delicious local specialties. Don’t forget museums and art galleries too! Plus there is even a castle and Norwich's landmark Romanesque cathedral if you want an extra bit of history thrown into your wedding photos!

Norfolk truly is an idyllic location with plenty to offer couples getting married in this beautiful county! If you are thinking about getting married in Norfolk then you are making an excellent decision! There really is something here for everyone. Surrounded by stunning natural beauty, Norfolk will provide you with all you need for an unforgettable wedding day.
