A beautiful Butley Priory wedding

Last month, I captured the beautiful wedding of Dorothea and Paul at All Saints Church, Sudbourne in Suffolk.  A very pretty and picturesque church that made for an incredibly romantic ceremony and wonderful photos! The reception followed at the equally beautiful Butley Priory in Suffolk.

The couple booked one of my mini packages. This meant that I arrived around half an hour before the ceremony began and met up with Paul and his groomsmen at the church. I photographed their guests arriving, capturing them greeting Paul with hugs and warm wishes for the exciting day ahead.

Dorothea arrived in style in a fantastic vintage bus with her bridesmaids. She looked simply stunning, descending the steps in a beautiful slim fitting dress and veil decorated with vintage lace. Her flowers by the super talented Brigitte at Moss & Stone were gorgeous too, with neutral tones adding to the elegance of her dress, and contrasting beautifully with the pretty pink bridesmaid dresses.

The couple beamed from ear to ear as they exchanged vows in the quaint and picturesque church. They looked so relaxed and happy throughout the ceremony, as did their wedding guests.

After the ceremony, there was time for a few couple shots outside the church as the groomsmen lined everyone up ready to throw the confetti. All Saints Church was a beautiful backdrop for these stunning shots, as the newlyweds exited the church under a shower of confetti.

Dorothea and Paul boarded the vintage bus together this time as man and wife, taking the back seat where I captured another quick shot of them together. Their wedding guests were transported in a larger vintage bus to the truly breathtaking Butley Priory.

Champagne flowed as their friends and family enjoyed tasty canapes on arrival, amongst lots of laughter and chatting. I took advantage of the gorgeous weather and captured some great shots outside in the beautiful grounds of this stunning venue.

The weather also blessed us with some spectacular warm twinkling light filtering through the trees – the perfect backdrop for some romantic couple shots in the grounds of the Priory.

We then headed back inside for the speeches which were brilliant. A lot of laughter and beaming smiles on guest’s faces as anecdotes were followed by toasts to the newlyweds.

Everyone then enjoyed the wedding breakfast as they chatted into the evening. I left the celebrations just after the happy couple cut their beautiful cake, leaving them to enjoy their disco and dance into the night as the sun went down…

Here are some of my favourite photos from Dorothea and Pauls beautiful day. If you are getting married at Butley Priory and are looking for a wedding photographer, I’d love to hear from you.
