Thank you so much for capturing our day, we are so pleased with the photographs”

I’m so lucky that I get to photograph so many wonderful weddings, all unique and special in their own way. Held at The Electric Picture Palace in Southwold, Sarah and James’ wedding was intimate, relaxed, and quirky – I loved absolutely everything about it!

Sarah and James had booked one of my mini wedding photography packages, so I met James at the fabulous venue before the ceremony to capture the guests arriving.

The venue itself was incredible – eclectic, vintage, and quirky. It was the perfect backdrop to the day and really expressed the personalities of both the bride and groom. Of course, having such a stunning venue also gives me the opportunity to capture some amazing photos!

Once all the guests had arrived and taken their seats in the old, independent cinema, a short film was shown. This beautifully animated love story revealed how Sarah and James first met. It’s safe to say the cinema was filled with laughter and tears.

When the bride arrived, she looked simply beautiful in a vintage style, embellished cream dress. The ceremony took place on the stage at the front of the theatre, with the gorgeous old cinema lights shining on the happy couple. It was like something out of a movie!

After the ceremony, the guests blew bubbles and threw confetti over the happy couple. Another great photo opportunity!

Sarah and James were very keen to have photos on the beach with their dog and ensure she was part of their special day. So we went and collected their fur baby Ruby, the bride changed into her wellies, and we all headed to the beach. The sun was low in the sky, casting that pretty late winter/early spring light across the beach – perfect for capturing some striking images.

Once we’d finished up on the beach, we headed over to Southwold Harbour where the guests were already waiting at The Sole Bay Fish Company – a lovely little smokehouse. There were bubbles flowing and lots of chatting – there was a truly brilliant atmosphere around the quirky space.

Before everyone sat down to eat, I headed outside with James and Sarah to capture some more couple photos. We got some great shots – the sun was setting over the river and Sarah and James were so natural together and clearly very much in love!

Once I’d captured the final shots, I left them all to enjoy a delicious fish supper. A truly wonderful day for a fabulous couple!
