A Beautiful Summer Wedding at Bradmoor Woods
Weddings are special, but every now and then, I get to photograph one that’s truly unique. Tilly and Tom’s wedding at Bradmoor Woods in Norfolk was one of those days—a perfect mix of personal touches, relaxed celebration, and sheer joy. From the moment I arrived at Tilly’s bridal prep to the final moments of the evening, their love story shone through every detail.
Bridal Preparations – Calm Before the Celebrations
The day began in the best possible way—surrounded by laughter, excitement, and a lot of love. Tilly, her mum, and her bridesmaids were getting ready in Tilly's family home. The atmosphere was surprisingly calm for a wedding morning, which set such a lovely tone for the day.
Tilly’s dress was a showstopper—a beautiful gown with intricate lace detail that suited her perfectly. It was hanging in the window as I arrived, catching the soft morning light, begging to be photographed. As I moved around capturing candid shots of makeup being applied and the final touches to hair, it was clear just how much this day meant to everyone in the room.
The Journey to the Church – A Stylish Arrival
Tom was already waiting at the church by the time I arrived, looking both nervous and excited. He and his groomsmen were greeting guests and sharing laughs outside the quaint, historic church they’d chosen for their ceremony.
Then came one of the most memorable entrances I’ve ever seen at a wedding. Tilly arrived perched on the back of a Mazda MX-5, which had been decorated with flowers and ribbons. It was a true reflection of her and Tom’s fun, laid-back personalities. The bridesmaids waited outside to watch her arrival, and there was this ripple of excitement as she stepped out, ready to meet her groom.
A Heartfelt Ceremony
The ceremony was everything you’d hope for in a wedding—intimate, emotional, and full of smiles. As Tilly walked down the aisle, Tom’s expression said it all. It’s these moments that make photographing weddings so special—capturing the raw emotion that words can’t quite convey.
Their vows were heartfelt and personal, and you could feel how deeply connected they are. After the ceremony, the real adventure began. Bradmoor Woods isn’t just a stunning venue; it’s also where Tilly and Tom first met during the festival Folk in a Field. Choosing this location for their reception felt like a full-circle moment, and it made the day even more meaningful.
The reception had a festival vibe, and every detail was thoughtfully planned to reflect their story. There were picnic tables scattered across the woodland clearing, adorned with wildflower arrangements that matched Tilly’s bouquet. Guests were encouraged to relax, mingle, and enjoy the grazing boards and flowing cocktails. It felt less like a formal event and more like an intimate celebration with friends and family.
One of the day’s highlights was Basil, Tilly and Tom’s adorable dog, who made a special appearance. He was more than just a guest; he was part of the family. Capturing moments with Basil was a joy!
The Surprise That Stole the Show
Just when I thought the day couldn’t get any better, Tom revealed his surprise for Tilly: miniature ponies. Her reaction was priceless, and you could see how much thought had gone into making her day extra special. The ponies became instant celebrities, with guests lining up to snap photos and give them plenty of attention.

As the afternoon transitioned into evening, it was time for speeches. The informal, relaxed atmosphere carried through, with heartfelt words mixed with plenty of humour. The best man and Tilly's mum had the crowd roaring with laughter.

After the speeches, it was time to get the party started. From there, the dance floor stayed full, with guests letting loose and enjoying every second. The band kept the energy high, playing a mix of crowd-pleasers that had everyone showing off their moves.
Pizza and Late-Night Fun
No good party is complete without food, and Tilly and Tom nailed it by serving wood-fired pizza as a late-night snack. Guests gathered around the pizza van, chatting and sharing slices, while others returned to the dance floor.
Even as I packed up my camera gear for the night, the celebrations were still in full swing. It was clear that this was a wedding people wouldn’t forget anytime soon.
