Sarah & Mike – A Beautiful Boho Wedding

Hall Farm in Wordwell is a unique wedding venue set in the beautiful Suffolk countryside. Owned and run by Sarah and Mike, it was only natural that they had their own very special day at this beautiful location.

I first met Sarah and Mike last year at my first wedding at Hall Farm. We got chatting, and then several months later when they were planning their own wedding, I was honoured when they booked me to do their wedding photography. They are genuinely the loveliest of couples, and I couldn’t have been happier to be part of their special day, capturing memories for them to treasure.

When I arrived on the wedding day, Sarah was in the final stages of getting ready, so I went to say hi and took a few photos of her and her bridesmaids. Sarah is also a super talented florist and owns Amity Flowers, so all the flowers for the day were absolutely stunning, including her breathtaking bouquet filled with colour.

I had some time to head over to the barn and marquee to take some detail shots before the ceremony. Sarah wanted a boho theme and a very relaxed day for the newlyweds and their two hundred or so friends and family to enjoy – and wow, did she deliver!!

There were some fantastic little touches including wigwams for the children to play in. So much hard work and creativity had gone into the day, transforming a blank canvas into a very truly stunning wedding.

The quaint little church was just a short walk across the field of the farm, so I headed over to meet the guests and Mike. The church was beautiful decorated with flowers (check out the stunning flower arch) and more hints of the boho theme.

Sarah looked absolutely stunning in her dress and pretty flower crown. Her three bridesmaids wore floral dresses of their choice which I loved – another nod to the relaxed feel for the day. Mike looked very handsome too, with his red tie perfectly complimenting the vibrant buttonhole and bridal bouquet.

After a lovely ceremony, all of the guests walked back across the fields to the barn for the drink reception, stopping along the way for a few group shots.

Back at the barn, the celebrations began with prosecco and beer freely flowing. There was such a lovely relaxed vibe, the sun shone as the children played in the teepees and guests laughed and chatted away.

Next, it was time for the speeches which were very heartfelt, with a few giggles thrown in for good measure. The guests then enjoyed a delicious BBQ feast in the marquee which smelt amazing.

I then took Sarah and Mike off for their couple photos. I was completely spoilt for choice with backdrops – lots of wild grass and pretty dappled light – it was simply gorgeous. We were even joined by Sarah and Mike’s handsome fur-baby, who you can see made an appearance in some of the photos!

As day turned to night, a prosecco van arrived at the venue – how perfect! The guests were also treated to a huge party to dance their way into the night.

There was a live band, courtesy of Sarah and Mike’s friends who play individually, but who came together to play for them which was very special and a really lovely touch.  Mike even joined in for several songs on the sax! They were a super talented bunch who kept the dance floor rocking in to the night.

What a party!  And I loved every minute of it. Thanks Sarah and Mike for having me along!
