Ross and Aja’s wonderful intimate wedding was a few weeks ago at The Athenaeum in Bury St Edmunds. They held their reception at Kings in Newmarket. It was the first time I had photographed a wedding there and this really brought home just how much I love photographing at new venues. I can look at the venue with a completely fresh set of eyes which is what really gets my creativity flowing!
I’d met up with Ross and Aja a few times before the the day so we had got to know each other quite well. Ross and Aja were very keen to stop along the way between Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket for some photos of just the two of them. This worked perfectly as not only did it give Ross and Aja some time to spend alone we also got some amazing shots – from country lanes and woods to overlooking Newmarket (albeit incredibly blowy up there)
Arriving back at the reception everyone was enjoying drinks and canapés. Fortunately the weather was on our side and we managed to get the group shots done in the garden at the venue. Ross and Aja had told me that their cake was going to be a little different – it was! It was absolutely amazing and I think it totally sums up just how awesome this couple are! It was such a pleasure to spend a few hours capturing Ross and Aja’s special day and it’s been great getting to know them over the past few months. Here are a few of my favourites from their day….
Please do leave a comment – my lovely couples do like to hear the nice things you have to say 🙂
If you would like me to photograph your wedding at The Athenaeum please do get in touch. I can’t wait to hear from you!
