Wedding season is here and what a cracker of a wedding to start with – a gorgeous spring wedding at Thursford Garden Pavilion, with the most fabulously happy and in love couple I could wish for.
Danielle and Tom were married a couple of weeks ago at Thursford Garden Pavilion. Some of you may recognise the venue as it’s where the Thursford Christmas Spectacular is held every year, and what a fabulous venue for a wedding.
It was my first time visiting and as I was running a little early, I had time to go and have a quick look around before I met Danielle, her mum and her bridesmaids getting ready nearby. It’s always wonderful to photograph at a venue for the first time (or one I haven’t been to for a while), as I go into creative overdrive and love visualising it with fresh eyes…this is when I work at my absolute best!
After a quick look around, I headed over to the cottage where the girls were excitedly getting ready. The atmosphere was calm but with an air of excitement for the day ahead. Everyone was having their hair done by the super talented Flamingo Amy, and make-up was applied by Emily from Love Moi. A dream team for sure!
Danielle then had a chance to open a few of her cards including a special one from her brother. There was also a letter from Tom the groom, which was very emotional and brought lots of tears! The beautiful words from them both was very touching.
Once the bridal party were hair and make-up ready, it was time to get in to their stunning dresses.
Danielle looked absolutely beautiful in a very elegant, simple bridal gown. The diamond waistband just finished it off perfectly and added a touch of sparkle.
I then left the bride and headed back over to the Pavilion to meet up with Tom, where he was excitedly awaiting the arrival of his beautiful bride-to-be.
The bridesmaids arrived in a gorgeous vintage Rolls Royce, which then went back to pick the bride and her dad up from the cottage.
The ceremony was held in the barn linked to the museum. It was a lovely relaxed ceremony in a beautiful bright building, perfect for capturing the moments on camera.
After the ceremony, guests were led into the museum for drinks and canapés whilst some had a ride on the colourful carousel. Great fun for the guests!
We then headed outside for a few group shots in the bright spring sunlight, and then it was inside to the Garden Pavilion for the wedding breakfast.
After enjoying the meal, it was time for the traditional speeches which were hilarious and moving in equal measures, especially the best man’s closing line. I don’t think I have ever seen so many people side-splitting laughing so much (including myself!)
I then took the happy newlyweds back outside for their couple photos. The light had been a little harsh earlier on, so I suggested we wait until after the speeches and I’m so pleased we did. The light was just incredible at this time – we were truly blessed!
As we were walking around the grounds and I was gushing about how amazing the light was (as I often do), Danielle told me all about the spicy sausage! Well it had most certainly worked its magic!
After the couple shots, we did a few fun photos with the bridal party, followed by the throwing of the confetti.
As the sun went down, the couple enjoyed their first dance together on the dance floor. The incredible Laurence Brooks and his amazing band played and sung into the night. And after some epic dance shots, I made my exit…
What an incredible day, with so much love and laughter and I wish Danielle & Tom all the happiness in the world. You were such a fun couple, your families and friends all made me feel so very welcome and I feel truly blessed that I could be part of your special day. Thank you guys for being awesome. Lots of love xxx
