A Beautiful Summer Wedding at Suffolk Barn
Planning a wedding from afar is never easy but when you’re planning it all the way from Singapore it certainly is going to have it challenges! You would never have guessed Laura and Mike’s day was planned from so many miles away as their day, surrounded with and enjoyed by friends and family, went just perfectly.
I started my day with Laura, her mum and bridesmaids where they were getting ready at Lackford Lakes Barns. There was much excitement and it wasn’t long before corks were popping and everyone was enjoying a pre ceremony tipple. Once Laura was ready I headed over to St Edmunds Church in Bury St Edmunds where all their guests were beginning to arrive.
One of the first things that struck me as the guests started to arrive (apart from their beaming smiles) was the array of colourful outfits. The theme for the day was ‘colour’ and oh boy, did everyone embrace it! The choice of trousers worn by a lot of the male guests, the brightly multicoloured confetti, the beautiful vibrant flowers! Mike even changed into a pink suit half way through the day! It was so lovely to see the splashes of colour everywhere and really set the scene for a bright and happy day.
After the ceremony we all headed over to Suffolk Barn just outside Bury St Edmunds in the lovely little village of Hawstead. It was such a beautiful sunny and warm day so the newlyweds and all their friends and family were able to enjoy drinks and canapés on the lawn. Soon it was time to head inside the stunning 15th century barn for the speeches followed by a delicious wedding breakfast.
The party that followed into the evening was such great fun! The guests were fully accessorised up with inflatable flamingoes, guitars and microphones and many more fun props. I absolutely loved this and it made for some fabulous and very funny photos. I left everyone dancing and partying in to the night.
